      yes. the way he told it was half of the magic. But this actor was just great. Michael Nyquist, top swedish actor , a legend in acting circles. very few of those holiwood stars ever matched him. and then he dies of cancer at 57. sometimes life just isnt fair.

    Love Wick!!! I think Wick and Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone were separated at birth. Their father is the character Sean Connery in Presidio with Mark Hammil. Awesom scene where he beats true hell out of a big guy 1/2 his age with his thumb. “I’ll give you a chance. I’ll use Just my thumb Jr.” Or something like that!!!

    He's mad at his son because his son just killed himself, but since he isn't dead yet, the anger is stronger than the grief. He isn't mad at John yet because his son is still alive. Once his son is dead, his anger at his son gives way to the grief, and the anger at John blooms. There is no change in his character, only his circumstance. Brilliantly written character.

      @Pain Ville gaming but the truth is without Wicks revenge on the boy, the story of Wicks backstory of the impossible task wouldn't have been as evident without the follow up massacre Wick did getting to Viggos son
      So a back story only goes so far to tell how dangerous a person is, we needed to see why they're feared

    • Bustuhh
      Bustuhh 19 dni temu

      @Pain Ville gaming a man like Wick carries so much respect he had police and firefighters helping to cover up crimes
      The 2nd movie started with a house fire, the emergency services arrived and while Wick is being treated, the person looking after Wick asked in a rhetorical sense "Gas leak!...." the person knew it wasnt an unfortunate accident, and gave Wick the cover up story needed
      Viggo should've made sure his son knew who Wick was, you don't build an empire without saying who helped you get it

As a mob boss, an underling just burned everything to the ground with 1 mistake. As a father, his son is now a dead man walking and theres nothing he can do about it. The amount of grief and anger and remorse the actor was able to put into this scene without actually physically acting it out is astounding.

      I agree. Its one thing to have a random someone or another good guy talk up the "good guy." however, when mob boss , a bad guy, tells you about the "Protagonist" with such serious sincerity. With such Reverence. That you don't sit back in your seat and go "oh yeah ok." You sit up in your seat and go "Holy S***. I"m interested now."

When Aurelio informed him that the reason he struck his son was because he stole John Wick's car and killed his dog...that mob boss' reply of, "Oh" and then promptly hanging up says everything you need to know about John Wick.
    Prior to that conversation, the audience would have thought that Aurelio was a dead man for striking the mob boss' son.
    That, "Oh" immediately informed the audience that not only Aurelio knew that he was not going to get killed for smacking that little pissant, but now the audience knows what kind of scary badass John Wick truly is.

      @Phat Phungus best of luck my friend, I must forewarn you; my beliefs are not commonly held by most who refer to themselves as Christians, so I would advise to search for anyone who resembles Jesus to the degree that you understand his character, and learn from them what their relationship with him has done to affect his/her life.
      I would say, from my own experience, that Christians today more likely resemble the Pharisees and Sadducee’s Jesus condemns the most in his ministry for their hypocrisy and hardheartedness. If you don’t feel loved, watch out. Whatever is spoken in truth will not lead you to confusion but clarity, even if the clarity is painful. Avoid and be aware of anyone who says anything to you in the name of God’s authority or under the authority of his word if what they have to say is confusing and causes you fear. The truth I learned about God’s true character in college made me feel loved and understood on an existential level, whereas the common place teachings I revived were confusing, troubling, and made me feel worse as a person. Pay attention for subliminal messages in sermons or lectures. If you feel at all there are more then one thing being spoken, be wary, the hidden messages are the ones we more dangerously internalize and slip past our cognitive radar into our subconscious minds.
      I tell you this as a warning because I spent many years learning these truths the hard way, and was heart broken to the point of despair and suicidal thoughts to find them out. Please take my advice if you chose to look into Christ, He himself warned that in our day and age, many would falsely represent him for their own good. Look for the ones who act like Jesus more then they speak on his behalf. Look for the ones who’s lives pour forth love and mercy and understanding rather then judgment and shame. I speak this from experience and if I can save you from experiencing the confusion and disillusionment that caused me so much pain I would rather spare you of it if I can.
      Good luck brother! 💙💙💙

      damn. That’s a hard one man. You know, no, not really. Being nice is different then being kind or loving to someone. Lots of people can be nice but be bad underneath the surface, and Jesus called those types “white washed tombs” aka, on the outside your all act “nice” but really, you’re full of crap, literally. The kind of people who do good things not because they want to but because they want to just look good, and then do mean, hurtful, evil things behind closed doors, such as acting like a nice guy at church, and then going home to scream at your kids and call them names like my dad did. He hurt me very badly. I am hurting even to this day because of what he said to me 💔 he broke my heart. He had a lot of pain from his past that he took out on us kids, and we didn’t deserve it, we were just kids for Gods sake. What he did was VERY bad to us, but God still loves him, but I know God was very angry at my dad for being so cruel to us, and if God said anything he’d probably say “Sean (that’s my dads name), you do not DARE treat your kids that way! They don’t deserve that anger! You take your pain to ME and maybe your friends but don’t take your anger out on them! It’s ok for you to feel hurt from your past and your present, but it’s NOT ok for you to take it out on them. Don’t EVER do that again!”
      I know that the reason Jesus said “love your enemies” is because he loves everyone, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t love you any less then the people who hurt you. A lot of abusive people make you feel worthless and I know Jesus wasn’t saying that we should just let people walk all over us, because he loves us, he wants our best, he wants us to feel loved, because when we feel bad, we do bad things, but when we feel good about ourselves, we do good things. :)
      I believe Jesus was trying to show us that even the people we like to judge and hate on are still human, because those people probably have been through a lot and didn’t know what to do with all that pain and took it out on others because they didn’t feel loved at all and gave up trying to be good. I’ve been like that before. It’s very hard trying to be a good guy when no one cares and when people just wanna tell me I’m wrong and never appreciate how hard I try. Jesus loves people like that too.
      Now, according to Jesus, the only reason he even says this is not because he tolerates abuse, he said one time that it would be better for someone to literally have a millstone tied around their neck and thrown into the ocean then to abuse or mistreat a child; point being, Jesus tolerates NO excuses when it comes to people being abused, especially children because they can’t stand up for themselves because they need to be loved by their parents to prepare them for life, not crushed. There’s even one lost book of the Bible (it’s called the book of Enoch) that says that God literally has a very powerful guardian angel who’s one job is to look after all the abused children in the world. That verse made me cry.
      To be honest, I don’t know. I was really hurt as a kid and that verse was used to justify people treating me like crap and not being able to stand up for myself. To be honest, I still am afraid of speaking up for myself because I’m scared I’ll be disobeying that verse, deep down, and I have had a really hard time learning to love and respect myself because God loves me just as much as the people hurting me, and sometimes, from what I have learned, the people hurting you need to know what they are doing wrong because they might not know how they are hurting you unless you tell them how they are hurting you. I was too afraid to do that with my last boss I stopped working for sadly, but I am getting better, it’s ok to make mistakes (;
      I’m not sure bro, but you know, I know Jesus doesn’t want me to be hurt by anyone. When I think of that verse I am brought back to my childhood, and the horrible fear I had of “not being a good Christian.” In college, I realized that God didn’t care about how “good” I looked to others if in my heart, I didn’t really care. Now God wasn’t trying to make me feel bad, it’s like he was saying “Cole, I know how you feel, you don’t have to pretend around me anymore, you can be real with me about your feelings. You don’t have to try to act good around me anymore Cole, it’s ok; I love you.” Makes me cry thinking about it.
      It’s weird saying all this tbh. This is a hard subject for me and Im hoping sincerely this is helping you (;
      Anyway, I was afraid of not being a “good Christian” growing up and was so scared of that I let people be mean to me and I didn’t stand up for myself. Now, I’m so angry at how people have treated me I know it would be better for me to stand up for myself in a kind, but serious way, then let people keep making me angry over and over and then explode one day from all that anger, like my father did to me growing up. When I think of that verse, I feel bad for making people feel bad because I hate feeling bad. I remember how painful it was when people told me I was wrong when I was hurting and wanted to be listened to, not corrected. I remember in college, for the first time in my life, seeing the people who were mean to me as if they were little kids throwing tantrums because something I did made them upset. It was strange, because I still was angry at them, and hurt by what they did to me, but it was like a joke to me because I saw how silly they were really being. I was still angered because it was mean and hard hearted how they treated me, but it was less painful. It made it easier to forgive them, I was still hurt by what they did, but I wasn’t as upset anymore because I understood that they were just little kids in adult bodies acting out because they didn’t know any better. It helped ease the blow so to speak.
      Oh! I must say, forgiveness is not just ignoring how you feel about someone or just pushing it down so you don’t feel angry at them, it’s more like still being angry and hurt at what they did, because how you feel matters, but it’s like not wanting to take revenge on them anymore. It’s like “I am still very angry and hurt at you but I won’t hurt you, I won’t take you to court or punish you.”
      I won’t say for sure because I don’t know for sure, but maybe that story is kind of like what Jesus meant when he said “love your enemies” and stuff like that. I don’t want to mess up what he said, so that’s what comes to my mind I guess.
      Christian’s didn’t do a good job teaching me what Jesus really meant and I vowed to always be as careful as I could when trying to explain the Bible so that I wouldn’t ever make the Bible look bad just because I didn’t know what it actually meant, which is what a lot of people do, “taking the lords name in vain” is what that’s called.
      Anyway, I really and seriously hope this helps bro, or sis, I really do 💙💙💙🙏🙏🙏
      That’s a really deep question and
      I hope you know, no matter what you believe, that you are worthy of being treated like you are a good person, even if you do bad things because even if you don’t believe in God, I know how it feels to do bad things because of how bad it hurts, and then when people judge you because you’re “bad” instead of asking “hey man, how are you doing?” I want you to know, cuz I don’t know how old you are or what you’re going through, that you don’t deserve to be abused no matter what 😭💔
      My name is Cole and I’ve had a lot of abuse myself and I know God would never ever want someone to abuse you even if you think you deserve it because I know that even if you did something wrong, the best way to deal with it is not make you feel worse for it, but help you feel better so you don’t do it again. I wish my parents knew that when I was a kid.
      I hope this helps my dude, I hope this is what you were looking for and if not, just lemme know!
      Love and joy to you my man, or sis,
