    Destin, my father is a high school food science/Agriculture/Welding teacher. I think that this demonstration would be awesome in a classroom setting. How many times do you think it would work if done slowly on a stable surface? I'm curious if it would be a one time demo (Per Class Period) or a classroom staple. Keep it up!

      Thankfully miscounting the first time is irrelivant since you will 100% know when you unstirred it without even having to count, but it is funny that he still thought he did 7 both times.

    Hi, Destin. Great video as usual. I had an idea for another video. I've always wondered what a fire would look like if you could pause it in time and see it from all angles, using the same effect that they use in the Matrix to pause and rotate around someone during a fight scene. The idea came to me because I'm curious if each flame from the fire is flat / 2D or if it has some 3D shape to it. You can't really tell in person since you can only see a flame from a 2D perspective and it changes so quickly that you can't see the other side or the top before it changes. I'm hoping I explained that well enough. I figured if anyone could make a video like this you could do it. Cheers!

    In the case you call shear thinning, we call that optical 'dispersion'.

    Please take a look at negative dispersion fiber optics and the related field of pumped amplification of fiber laser signals.

    If you ran an electric current through a copper tube filled with ferromagnetic fluid could you produce a larger induction coil with a bigger magnetic field? Or solid copper coil makes most effective induction field?

    Have you checked out the laminar flow used to make our plastic money here in Australia? The flow is over air, making a huge bubble which is liquid at the top and ‘solid’ at the bottom-from what I can see on videos online.

    makes an awesome demonstration of air flow as well ... and for those who think fluid dynamics and air flow arent the same ... you are so very wrong ... they are exactly the same ... they just have different viscosities and so react similarly but more pronounced ... this is why drag reduction works in wind tunnels and water tunnels ... it is essentially the same thing with different densities

    I don't think the two cylinders needed to be so different in size a thinner gap would be better because it uses less syrup and mixes faster
