Unbeknownst to many and even more so than baseball and bowling, Cornhole requires extreme athleticism if you want to compete professionally. It's one thing to play a game while tailgating, for instance, and quite another to compete at the highest levels. Professionals can be compared to MLB pitchers in that they need to exercise, take care of their arms and be pin-point accurate. Also, playing the circuit is very intense and hard on the human body, particularly when pros have to travel from city to city, sometimes internationally as well. Thrower's arm, which afflicts many competitors, usually requires Tommy John surgery. The sport can be brutal on leg muscles, the spine and neck as well. The training equates to what an Olympic wrestler goes through. Hat's off to these great athletes.

And it can be done easily and quick

According to mathematicians, the odds of any adult male bowling a 300 game are 11,500 to one. The odds of a professional PBA bowler rolling a perfect game are 460 to 1.

    • Ryan Hyunh
      Ryan Hyunh 5 miesięcy temu

@Lawrence L. So, in a way, that is considered professional bowling, since I am making money off of it, even though I'm not in the Professional Bowlers Association.

    • Ryan Hyunh
      Ryan Hyunh 5 miesięcy temu

@Lawrence L. In terms of PBA, I never made it, but I made a lot of money off of tournaments. Practicing 20 games a day isn't casually wasting time. It's actual practice.

    • Lawrence L.
      Lawrence L. 5 miesięcy temu +1

@Ryan Hyunh Well, you should become Pro and make some money instead of just dicking around casually wasting time.

I wonder if those numbers account for oil patterns as well, because I have once bowled two 300 games on the same day in 20 games of practice. And I felt if I had stayed in that alley a little longer, I could have bowled more only because the oil pattern was set down in a way that I could miss by a mile and still get the ball to smash the pins hard.

You have a higher score than I did when I was your age. Keep up the fun sport. When I was your age I was lucky if I averaged over 100. The last year I bowled in a competitive league I was at a 204 average. With practice you will can get there.
