+Giao Tran 100 000 mi is nothing for a car like this if it's maintained correctly, just do the regular maintenance regularly / change all the fluids in time (according to the fluid interval chart in my latest videos) and you will easily reach 200 000 mi without major problems, but of course if you have air suspension then that can fail earlier

both are still young cars and they have very similar reliability so it’s completely up to you which one you prefer more, but very important is to change all the fluids in time(the fluid change interval chart is in my latest videos) and since both of these cars do have modern diesel engines - you should use them regularly on longer journeys
generally speaking the air suspension in the A8 can whitstand a little more - approx 10 years, while the air suspension in this E class most probably won’t last that long

    • different car review
different car review  4 miesięcy temu

yes it's a good daily driver, of course it also depends on how the previous owner maintained the car and what is the mileage, but overall it doesn't have any major problems, so buy a well maintained car in a good condition and change all the fluids in time (the best fluid change interval chart is in my latest videos)
of course if you are buying one which is equipped with air suspension then the air struts can leak over time but usually just after approx. 10 years

wanna save 4-$5000 dollars , well i was having a major clunking in my 4matic tranfer case , mechanic said needs a new one ?? Turns out simple fix bought standard transfer case oil ,put in drove 15 or so miles Noise got worse NO WORRIES then bought 1 quart of Mercedes Transfer case oil put it in drove for an hour maybe less shut off ate lunch did whichever then went for a drive on the highway back to 35-45 mph roads and wala back to new cost approx 80 bucks with labor ( not at the Dealer ) and the guy who told me me I needed a new one went back there had him sit his ass down told him what I did and he said ,no way this fixed it and I said do me a favor told him to get out ,we were approx 3 miles from his shop and I took off leaving him to walk back , P.S you do have to use Mercedes trans fluid ,brake fluid ,radiator fluid ,power steeing etc....any fluid that is for mercedes is a must ,it costs more but no 5 thousand dollars !

well, according to the automatic gearbox specialists this is the best interval, so, you know I don't really care if someone is going to change it at this interval or later or even never :D at the end it's still your decision and not mine, but I will always recommend changing it at this point because you can avoid premature issues with the gearbox, that's it

Take it from someone who owns a wholesale autoparts distributor company...don't buy the version with Air Shocks unless you got serious money laying around you can spend on repairs. When we get calls for these air shocks going out they are not cheap at all. Even if you get shocks that are reman and not new you'll still end up spending a pretty penny for them. Still with the base model E350 or the Sport E350, they're the ones that come with regular shock absorbers.

Purchased a 2015 E350 CPO, pushing my luck I guess. And many cars appreciate like a rock, in most cases that makes it affordable. Better have maintenance money though. Thanks for the great review! I bought 2014 E550 Convertible CPO 2.5 years ago and reached 45,000 miles with two problems. One is automatic driving support sensor issue and is replaced twice under warranty. The other one is warped front brake disc maybe due to the heavy body weight. I did not replace the disc yet because the braking capability is still good except keep pumping the brake pedal while pressing the brake. One other issue I am concerning is faint high pitch noise from suspension when cold start in the morning. Once the car is warmed up, the noise is gone. Dealer failed to find the reason. Do anyone have the similar experience? Please help. Besides these three issues, I have no problem yet.
After quite disappointed to the two different Mercedes dealer services in my area - they tried to overcharge me three times! - I could find an independent Mercedes service shop with more than 30 years of experiences. All of their customers enjoy very old classic Mercedes. They were very curious why relatively new Mercedes comes to their shop. Those new Mercedes buyers prefer the dealer service, they said. The regular maintenance cost is less than 50% compared to the dealer. They told me the exact same stories that your review told. Only because the fuel tank is made of plastic, there may be an issue in the future. Another issue may come out in the future is the weak transmission, which may cost around 2,500$. Besides these issues, they predict I can enjoy this car quite long distance for a long time to come. Though pricey in the beginning, I hope I can ride this car for a really long time.

maximum mileage, well that's hard to tell, but there are cars with 500k and 600k km, so these cars can whitstand a lot, but only with the regular maintenance which is very important in every car
after 300k km I would consider changing the timing chain mechanism if it's still original from the factory, the injectors can be worn as well, the turbocharger can still be in a good shape but that depends on how the previous owner treated the car

    • different car review
different car review  Rok temu +2

the E550 convertible is overall reliable-so no major problems, but you have to choose a car which is in good condition
      things to look for:
-the engine should be really smooth on idle without strange noises and during acceleration as well
-The car should ride smoothly without some vibrations or strange clunking, rattling, squeaking noises from the suspension, it's good to open the windows and listen for these noises at lower speed on bad quality roads too
-check the paintjob-it should look the same on all the body panels
-test all the electronics including the rooftop, check for water leaks/moisture in the interior
-buy a car with regular maintenance history
-change the coolant and brake fluid after 2 years/or after buying
-use only high quality fuel and change the oil regularly
Also it's extremely important to let the cold engine warm up-lower RPM for the first 15-20 km / 10-12 mi

If you buy a car like this with 500.000 km on the clock the mileage will probably correct. I don't believe there are cars with 100.000 real km on them.

How can I be sure about the mileage? I recently bought a 2014 E300, it was only 25 K Kms. Is there a definitive way to know other than knowing from service center? I've heard that models after 2013 can't be manipulated, is it true?

Nice review. I find your content a lot more helpful than many other channels.
I own a black 2011 E350 4matic sedan, much like several of the ones shown in your video. It is almost seven years old now, and I have had zero issues with it. I use full synthetic Mobil 1 oil and change the oil every 10,000 miles.
The E Class is a wonderful car. It drives like a dream, and the ride is very smooth and supple. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking about buying one. Just make sure you don't get one where the previous owner didn't take good care of it. No car will be in good shape long-term when the previous owner trashed it and never took care of it.

The only thing I wish I could do now is upgrade the COMAND system to make the colors better and more custom on the screen. I know there is an upgrade for the GPS/ Map within the system... but I wonder if there's a way to add more colors & the ability to choose custom color theme's ?

W210, the last Benz made. After 2002 they went to HELL in a handbasket. I LOVE my 1999 W210 E320. After 200,000 mi. It still runs drives, and rides very close to the day it was made.

    • Keyyyyzzzz
      Keyyyyzzzz Rok temu +3

Nice to read your words...Even my friends 1999 W210 has a Chrysler sticker--but she calls it her damn solid 'Brunhilde'! My previous MB was a W124, 1989--truly awesome ride, good handling and superb build quality. However, after some 26 years of reliability in our family she needed major, expensive auto transmission work... So in 2015 I sadly traded her for a 2005 E350 Avantgarde with 80,000 km clocked. This car wasn't completely flaw-free at first, no car really is, but it NEVER let me down and its small bugs are now long gone. In AG trim it comes with factory lowered 'sports' suspension--so the ride of the old W124 just ain't there... The 7 speed auto mated to that highly advanced and lightly stressed 3.5L V6 provides nice sounds, substantial power to weight ratio and reasonable economy. My mechanic only uses synthetic oil, which is changed every 5,000 km or 6 months. This W211 provides me an enjoyable owner/ driving experience...and as I'm approaching 60 years myself, I hope she might outlast me and be the last car I ever need to buy...

Spoken like a typical idiot who has never even owned a Mercedes but just believes everything someone else told them. You could not be more wrong. I have owned two different Mercedes E Class sedans, first a 2000 E430 Sport and now a 2011 E350 4matic, and both of them have been extremely reliable. The only thing I ever had to replace on the first one in eight years of ownership was one of the rear power window motors that went out, and the second one is almost seven years old and has not had a single issue at all. Take your scare tactics elsewhere.

-the air suspension can have problems: leaks, air compressor or height sensors
-check all the electronics, there is often problem with the electronically operated tailgate and door mirrors
-the regular maintance history is very important: service book, list of replaced parts, oil change intervals etc.
-the engine has to be smooth and quiet on idle without some strange ticking/rattling sounds, also it shouldn't make rattling sound at cold start
-the R350 model made to 2008 can have more often problem with the worn timing chain which is caused by worn balance shaft gear-expensive repair
-the car has to be quiet without some strange noises or vibrations during the test drive, and also check the transmission properly before buying

If you buy in America buy late 2011-13 for the first gen because it has the 7 G Tronic Plus (70,000 miles between blue ATF change) vs 40,000 mile for the 7 G Tronic (No plus) is 40,000 miles....Both cost $500 to change at the dealer against gravity fill.
Also things to look for: Black headliner, AMG sport package with all 5 wheels (4 rims 1 steering). Most have MB text, you want keyless-go look for chrome on door handles... in the USA look for "P2" package cars...
