Feels like a Honda marketing exercise. Do you plan to test any other bikes or are we now locked into Honda content for the next 12 months? Not sure this was really choosing your own motorbike, it was more you were always being given that one but they sell others too so let's take two others out. I get that this way of working is how you can make the content work but I'd rather have seen you compare various 600/700 bikes from various manufacturers. Still I'll see where this goes as it never hurts to have more motorbike content on PLclip 👍 Ride safe and enjoy, despite my moaning above it's a great bike 👍

Congratulations dude and welcome to the family. I’ll be interested to see how often you want to drive now you have a choice of 2 wheels as well. I sold my M3 in the end as it just wasn’t getting used as I have a van for work plus my bikes.

Good choice Paul! I’d have gone for the Blade or Africa Twin, but I’ve been riding for 30 years. As a new rider the 650 is spot on. I’m still not sure about DCT on a bike though. My last two cars have been dual clutch and I love it, but I remain to be convinced of its value on a bike. I don’t use a bike to commute, just a weekend toy so perhaps it’s of less value to me.

You can do clutchless up shifts easily on any bike, especially after you take off in first gear, you can go clutchless. You don't have to pull the clutch lever in every time, motorcycles have transmissions/gears that allow for this unlike cars with syncros.

    • gpage
      gpage Godzinę temu

@Camsty 1 You can if you want, it doesn't cause any additional wear to the drivetrain. There is no added stress to the gears by clutchless upshifts. I would avoid doing it when taking off, but from there on it's as smooth and easy without the clutch.

    • Camsty 1
      Camsty 1 3 godzin temu

You can't compare these cars, the A45 is in a completely different league. 1) its AWD 2) its 50k 3)its Auto You didn't mention the Hyundai 5-year warranty that also covers track days! You can do 0-60 in 5.3 secs if you nail it in the N The N is much more comfortable for taller drivers, I'm 6"5 trust me.. I tried nearly every hot hatch on the market, the N is the best for long legs, there is far more headroom, wireless phone charging, Heated seats, heated steering wheel, lane keep assist, collision auto braking.. ect. The A45 is a high end hot hatch, the N is a budget hot hatch. It's like putting mo farah against Usain Bolt.... but its ok because they're bother runners.... come on guys really.... This comparison should never have been done.

I honestly wouldn't bother. You will become much much more aware on the road by riding a bike though, because car drivers are dangerous and do not pay attention to the road. The chances are you will also have an accident, by no fault of your own. It also hurts a lot being hit by a car.

  • KYLE Dermody

Awwwww!!!! You missed! The CB1000R was the sweet spot. Power you can grow into, sharp looks, great seating position, wide bars. Throw a fly screen on it and some bags and it’s a tourer! Change your mind! CHANGE YOUR MIND!!!!

    • olie russell
      olie russell Godzinę temu

KYLE Dermody he literally just passed his test. The worst thing you could do as new rider is choose a superbike. Moving up through the classes slowly will always make you a better rider. Even as a seasoned rider, riding a 1000 requires a step up in skill

  • G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits
    G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits 6 godzin temu

You ignored what was one of the easiest and fastest bikes to ride in the room, the CB1000R, faster to 80mph than the new Fireblade but super comfy and as easy to ride as a 125cc! Just because it’s a 1000cc doesn’t mean it’s not for beginners as you can start off in a lower power mode and go from there 👍

    • G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits
      G-MAN'S Bikes & Bits 5 godzin temu

Daniel Kemnitz , I meant the naked 1000r not the fireblade, in rain mode it has under 100bhp so ok for beginners to grow into 👍

    • Daniel Kemnitz
      Daniel Kemnitz 5 godzin temu

"Just because it's a 1000 doesn't mean it isn't for beginners" -see, that's how people end up in crash compilations on PLclip. Awful advice lmao. It's also a hell of a lot of money, better to get something that's easier to actually learn proper riding skill on and figure out what kind of riding style you actually like, before you go to an extreme end like a 1000 supersport. Perhaps he's more into nakeds or adv bikes who knows. The 650R is a much better platform for moving up the ranks later on.

Just a thought - if you want to consider off-road riding, you need to understand that learning and gaining those specific skills/techniques is nearly as much of a task and as time consuming as just learning to ride on the road! BOTH require significant investment of time, effort and energy.
